How to Play from Outside Japan

Deresute has never had a release outside Japan, and it's region-locked on both official app stores. Here's exactly what that means and how the existing overseas fanbase gets in anyway.

iOS

  1. 1Create a new Apple ID with its region set to Japan. You don't need a Japanese address or phone number to create the account itself — only to add a payment method later.
  2. 2Sign into the App Store with that Apple ID.
  3. 3Search for and download the game from the Japanese store.
  4. 4To spend real money later, you'll need a Japan-region payment method — a Japanese iTunes gift card, bought online, is the common route.

Android

  1. 1Google Play's region locking is stricter than the App Store's, so most Android players sideload the APK directly instead.
  2. 2Download the APK from a source the community currently trusts, and install it manually (you'll need to allow installs from outside the Play Store).
  3. 3Purchases don't require a Japan-region account on Android, unlike iOS.
Before you play: you'll also need a Namco ID (Bandai Namco's account system) to actually play and to keep your progress if you switch devices — register one from inside the game after it launches.

The game keeps crashing — is that normal?

Deresute is known for instability on some devices, particularly during live performances with heavy 3D rendering. Two fixes cover most cases: close every other app running in the background before you launch a live, and switch the performance display to 2D mode in the settings, which is much lighter than the default 3D view.
