How a team works
- 1You field five crew and they fight automatically — there's no manual skill timing, so composition matters more than anything you do mid-battle.
- 2Every crew member has a class: Tank, Warrior, Shooter or Mage. Mages cover healing and buffs; Shooters and Mages deal most of the ranged and area damage.
- 3A reliable shape is 1–2 tanks + 1–2 damage dealers + 1 support. Teams that skip the tank tend to lose their back line before the damage dealers get going.
- 4Build in this order: pick the tank, then your main damage dealer, then a support that boosts that damage dealer, and use the last slot to cover whatever is still missing.
The core team most guides agree on
Three separate Japanese guides (published September 3–23, 2026) recommend nearly the same lineup:
| Slot | Crew | Job in the team | If you don't have them |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main tank | Bouncy Bob | Wide-area taunt, takes about a third less damage and reflects the rest back. | Machine Butcher Silas |
| Control | Machine Butcher Silas | Pulls the farthest enemy into your side, breaking up the enemy back line. | Any second tank |
| Support | Neon Wizard Samuel | Raises attack speed and crit rate, and stuns enemies whose shield breaks. | Scrap Vulture Oliver |
| Main damage | Rex or Mechanic Girl Zoey | Rex for single-target pressure, or Mechanic Girl Zoey's giant robot for long, idle-friendly fights. | Steelman Cole or Techhound Lee |
| Flex | Jolly Jack or Diana | Fill whatever the team still lacks — more damage, or a second support. | Scrap Vulture Oliver |
Why it works
- Bob holds the enemy in place while reflecting damage, so the front line survives without much healing.
- Silas drags a back-line enemy forward, where your damage dealers can focus it down before it does anything.
- Samuel's attack-speed and crit buffs multiply whatever your main damage dealer already does — he's worth more next to a strong attacker than in a weak team.
- With the enemy grouped up in front of Bob, area damage from Zoey, Steelman Cole or Techhound Lee hits several targets at once.
Building it without spending
- The launch login bonus handed out 210 free pulls, and login rewards and events keep adding usable crew, so the core team is realistic without paying — it just takes longer.
- Clearing every daily quest for a full week adds up to roughly 200 SSR crew shards, a no-luck way to push one key crew member up a star rank. Spend them on your main tank or main damage dealer first.
- Don't level everyone: use the lossless swap when you change your lineup to carry levels over.
Crew also belong to factions (for example Brotherhood and Technician). We haven't been able to confirm how faction bonuses work, so this page doesn't build around them.
