Conclusion
The Japanese wiki's beginner guide boils the first days down to a simple loop: accept quests, do them, claim them, while growing a fleet of destroyers and light cruisers and getting expeditions running.
The way I read it, the common first-week mistake is spending resources chasing battleships. Big ships cost a lot to run, construction is random, and most early quests and expeditions want small ships anyway.
A Sample First-Week Plan
| Days | Focus | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Pick a starter, do the “first ___” (はじめての) quests, build up to 6 ships | These one-off quests teach each system and pay resources. The early goal is the quest to organize a 6-ship fleet. |
| Days 1–2 | Unlock the 2nd fleet and start expeditions | Expeditions are the biggest steady income, and they run while you're away. |
| Days 2–4 | Clear 1-1 → 1-4; farm 1-1 for destroyers | Destroyers and light cruisers are what quests and expeditions ask for most. |
| Every day | Daily quests after the 5:00 JST reset | Daily construction quests also grow your fleet. |
| Days 4–7 | First remodels (Kai) at level 20; unlock the 3rd and 4th fleets; start World 2 | Kai is a big, cheap power jump; more fleets mean more expeditions. |
A suggested order based on how the systems unlock, not a schedule you have to keep.
Which Starter Should I Pick?
According to the wiki, the five starters are almost identical at the start, and the others are easy to get later — so pick the one you like.
If you want the long-term edge: Fubuki (吹雪) has the most remodel stages and brings rare gear, and Murakumo (叢雲) also has a Kai Ni. Inazuma, Fubuki and Murakumo are named in some later quests.
How Quests Work
- Open Quests (任務) and click a quest to set it in progress (遂行中). You can have up to 5 active at the start.
- When it shows complete (達成), click it again to claim the reward.
- The tutorial doesn't lock anything — but if its instructions are confusing, just clear the quests named “はじめての○○” (“first ___”).
- Daily quests reset at 5:00 JST, weekly ones on Monday 5:00, monthly ones on the 1st. If you run out of quests, the wiki's advice is simply to rest until the next reset.

Things to Know Early
| Topic | What the wiki says |
|---|---|
| Development materials | Construction and development each use one. They don't regenerate; quests are the main source. If you have resources but can't build, check this first. |
| Battleships early | Usually hard to sustain: big resupply and repair costs, and construction may give a destroyer instead. Most important ships also drop from maps. |
| Expeditions failing | Success depends on flagship level, required ship types, number of ships, and full fuel/ammo. Damage doesn't matter, but a heavily damaged flagship can't go. |
| Resource regen | Stops above a cap set by HQ level. Expeditions and quests aren't capped. |
FAQ
Is Yamato the strongest? Should I aim for her?
She's powerful, but the wiki points out you can't build or run her early on. Ship types have different strengths, and rarity says little about strength.
Should I use Instant Construction?
You get it steadily from quests, but it's also needed for strong friend fleets in events and in large amounts for some remodels. The wiki's advice is to save it unless you're in a hurry. Using it doesn't change which ship you get — that's decided when construction starts.
How do I get more fleets?
Through organization quests. See Unlock More Fleets.
I'm out of resources.
Keep expeditions running and come back later. See Running Out of Resources.
